Interclub Teams Competition 2001 Results

THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN INTERCLUB CHESS TOURNAMENT 2001

Congratulations to MODBURY the winners of the South Australian Interclub Chess Tournament an outstanding acheivement. Modbury A Grade Premiers were Srbo Zaric (International CC master,) Grahame Lang, Bill Anderson – Smith, Justin Freytag, Peter Sanders. Those in B grade for Modbury were John Szeremenda, Waren Kramer, Zbigniew Zdziarski, Ben Porlaje Dan Watters.

A $25 book voucher prize was given to the player winning the most games in each grade. This was Steve Wawryk from Matisons (A Grade) and Zbigniew Zdziarski (B grade) from Modbury.

There was 79 players from 5 clubs who entered this year, Adelaide being the oldest club about 100 years old and Modbury being a relatively new club. Norwood has the most amount of members placing 3 A grade teams and 2 B grade teams. Another competition will start in October, This one is the Pennant Competition. We look forward to your participation in the near future.
